TEMPRITE®

TempRite® is a steel temporary support prop, designed for use in the South African mining industry. It is designed for simple installation and removal has a built-in yield characteristic for ground control under high closure conditions.

  • No pin holes are required in the prop barrel eliminating any stress points. the tube wall can therefore be thinner resulting in a lighter prop
  • The Prop is easy to install in a one-man operation – no finicky pins to find holes
  • The prop is set using a conventional cam system – well known in the mining industry
  • The prop can be removed remotely using a cable and spanner on the cams in a conventional manner.
  • The prop can easily be retracted by turning up-side-down and giving a light tap to release the locking mechanism
  • The TempRite can be supplied with a variety of headboards depending upon customer requirements. Netting hooks are included in headboard designs.
  • The prop has a built-in yield mechanism to protect the workforce during closure conditions. It will not buckle under closure resulting in loss of load. Yield loads are set between 80 to 100kN

ATTRIBUTES

  • Steel prop
  • Lightweight
  • Very quick installation

TEMPLIGHT®

The TempLight® Closure Logging Device is an electronic system built into a TempRite® steel support unit, designed to monitor and log closure against time in its position

  • The TempRite® can be supplied with a variety of headboards depending upon customer requirements. Netting hooks are included in headboard designs.
  • The prop has a built in yield mechanism to protect the workforce during closure conditions. It will not buckle under closure resulting in loss of load. Yield loads are set between 80 to 100kN

ATTRIBUTES

  • Steel prop
  • Lightweight
  • Very quick installation
  • Lightweight
  • Remote release
  • All components are durable Reliable yield loads, based on steel deformation
  • The templight closure logging device has a wide range of sizes as per TempRite

SMARTPROP®

The Timrite Smartprop® is a temporary, non-blast on  support unit. It uses a conventional filler nozzle that fits the inlet valve which is activated by conventional  high pressure pre-stressing pump. The release tool will be supplied with a length of cable for Remote removal of the prop.

The prop sets to 40kN (dependant on the input pressure)

ATTRIBUTES OF THE SMARTPROP®

  • Lightweight – easy to install;
  • Easy suspension of safety nets;
  • Various headboards
  • Remote installation from safe supported position;
  • Uses conventional pre-stress pumps;
  • Correct Installation Load Indicator
  • Ground movement Early Warning Indicator
  • Remote removal from safe supported area; and
  • No cams to cover.

VARIATIONS

  • Yieldable
  • Non Yieldable

EARLY WARNING

Green light on setting – prop set to correct load
Blue light – load on prop has dropped – re-pump
Red light – load on prop has increased – ground movement warning

OCCULUS®

Occulus® is a revolutionary but simple lightweight distance measuring device for use in underground mining. It is easily transportable and can be attached to any steel structure or component to measure deformation versus time.

As an Early Warning Device – It can be programmed to flash different colored lights at either specific deformation values, or different closure rates.

As a Data Logger –the Occulus® logs deformation and time data for later or instantaneous retrieval by various methods.

ATTRIBUTES OF THE OCCULUS®

  • Monitors closure and can be programmed as an early warning device
  • Programmable to flash warning lights at certain deformations or rate of closure.
  • Data acquisition ability to monitor time and deformation
  • Down data to remote monitoring station      Long or short term monitoring
  • Light weight and small – can carry in pocket
  • Magnetic – attach to face plates, prop headboards, steel sets etc

VARIATIONS

Time-of-flfight-based
Laser-based

TIMRITE SMARTRAC®

The TimRite SmarTrac® is a device that can be used in underground mines to warn of excessive ground movement or to log closures for separate data analysis.They consist of two telescopic tubes that are spring loaded for easy installation. Positioned within the tubes is a device that monitors the relative movement of the two ends of the tubes. A flashing light is used to indicate the status of the device.

There are three types of SmarTracs® and six length classes, as follows:

1.Standard SmarTrac® (S) – A SmarTraC® that measures closure and flashes the Red, Green and Blue warning lights according to the measured closure.

  • The flashing algorithm can be based on closure only (A and B values) or it can be based on closure rate.
  • The specific way of programming must be agreed with the end user before assembly of the SmarTracs.
  1. SmarTrac® with Radio Frequency broadcasting (RF) – It is the same as the Standard SmarTrac plus the ability to broadcast the data using radio frequency transmitter.
  • An additional receiver is required.
  1. SmarTrac® with Data Logging (DL) – The same features as the Standard SmarTrac®, but data logging ability in addition. Data will be captured on a Micro SD card and the device will have the ability to communicate with an Android device to download the data.

ATTRIBUTES OF THE SmarTrac®

  • Lightweight;
  • Easy installation;
  • Monitors closure and can be programmed as an Early warning device;
  • Long and short term monitoring;
  • Data acquisition ability;
  • 7,000,000 data points recording(long battery life); and
  • All components are durable.
