TIMBER MATS

The Timrite Mat is a timber stope support pack unit designed to optimally utilize timber. Simply, the Timrite Mat becomes a cost-effective pack by reducing timber content while minimizing loss in performance. To further ensure cost benefits, the units use existing materials and manufacturing systems. The Timrite Mat design rationalizes the timber configuration within the unit, but retains the inter-layer timber contact.

SQUARE APOLLO

The split slabs should have a face of minimum 30mm.This is valid for all faces. When making the units in a jig, the stopper for the outside splits should be on the outside of the splits.

•75 x 9 Square Apollo Mat

When making the units in a jig, the stopper for the blocks should be on the outside of the blocks.

5 BLOCK APOLLO

The Timrite Apollo Pack is a tried and trusted design of timber packs for use in the South African mining industry. Like other timber units supplied by Timrite, the units are robustly wired together. The unit is a strong unit designed to handle a large dead weight hangingwall. The high-end grain component of the unit results in very high initial stiffness required for low closure and backbreak situations. Each unit weighs around 20.5kg. The units are modular so that various pack footprints can be built from one sized unit.

COMPOSITE

The Timrite Timber Composite Pack is a tried and trusted design of timber packs for use in the South African mining industry. The units consist of a mining timber slab onto which horizontal grain mining timber blocks are strategically positioned, so that the unit can be used to build final permanent support structure which minimizes the amount of timber used in the footprint of the pack, but ensures maximum timber on timber contact, layer for layer, to maximize the

performance of the end timber composite pack product.

  • 110 x 110cm 3 units per layer – up to 2.2m stope width
  • 110 x 150cm 3 and 4 units per layer – up to 2.6m stope width
  • 150 x 150cm 4 units per layer – up to 3.0m stope width.

SQUARE MAT

The Timrite Square Pack is the latest design of timber packs for use in the South African mining industry. Like other timber units supplied by Timrite, the units are robustly wired together, and are relatively light weight, coming in at approximately 10.3kg per unit. The units are modular so that various pack footprints can be built from one sized unit.

TIMRITE LEXUS

The Timrite Lexus is an economical timber pack with good initial stiffness and relatively low ultimate stiffness. The configuration is such that the material is used efficiently and the performance is enhanced by the use of end grain blocks.

EXTENDED LEXUS

A modular unit designed to be relatively stiff and light with extra arial coverage, but with the ability to yield without generating high post yield loads.

CAESAR PACKS

The Timrite Caesar Pack is a design of timber packs for permanent support use in the South African mining industry. The units consist of a mining timber slab onto which horizontal grain timber blocks are strategically positioned, so that the unit can be used to build a final permanent support structure which minimizes the amount of timber used in the footprint of the pack, but ensures maximum timber on timber contact, layer for layer, to maximize the

performance of the end timber composite pack product.
