The unveiling of the commemorative plaque was attended by employees, management and Floyd’s colleagues, who came together to celebrate a man remembered not only for his dedication to his work, but also for the kindness and compassion he showed to everyone around him.
Opening the ceremony, Emmanuel Sithole explained that the memorial serves as a lasting reminder of Floyd’s contribution to Timrite and the importance of keeping his memory alive. More importantly, it stands as a daily reminder that safety must remain at the heart of everything we do – at work, at home and in our communities. Speaking on behalf of the employees, Nokuthula Dlamini described Floyd as a quiet, humble and dependable colleague whose willingness to help others left a lasting impression. Whether offering advice, lending a helping hand or giving a colleague a lift home, Floyd’s generosity and caring nature touched many lives.
