INTRODUCTION
TimRite operates in the mining supply and services sector. Its primary focus is to design, manufacture and supply of steel, electronics, polymer, cementitious, and timber support products. TimRite is the largest supplier of timber- based roof support products into the South African Mining Industry (Gold and Platinum).
Its secondary focus is on the design, manufacture, and supply of sawn timber into the industrial lumber market.
We provide services such as fire-retardant treatment for timber, timber yard management and support monitoring and control.
TimRite has three saw mills, three front end operations and R&D facility where we conduct research, product development and performance tests.
OUR BUSINESS FOCUS
The development of safe, innovative and cost-effective underground support solutions – TimRite has the most advanced research, development and surface testing facility, based at our operations in Westonaria.
Together with the rock engineering skills and expertise of TimRite the mining solutions to key challenges of extracting deeper ore bodies are met. This is achieved through ongoing collaboration between TimRite and its customers which also result in innovative product development and unique solutions for the industry.
Optimizing the full value of timber – TimRite’s investment in eucalyptus plantations allows for diversification into servicing the industrial timber and special pole markets.
SHAREHOLDERS
Management shareholders converted their shareholding into advance account in 2018, thereby leaving Thebe as the sole shareholder. Timrite (Pty) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Thebe Timrite Holdings (Pty) Ltd and Thebe Investment Corporation is the
ultimate holding company.
BEE STATUS
Timrite is a level 1 BBBEE company with 100% Black ownership and 44% Black female ownership.
Timrite has committed programmes towards transformation which include skills development, enterprise & supplier development and CSI.
Our skills development is vast with the following focus :

⦁ Learnerships for the unemployed,
⦁ Apprenticeship programme – for both employed and unemployed
⦁ Graduate programme – resulting to permanent employment , not only at Timrite but other companies as well

With enterprise development we have extended our programmes wherein the local community participate in the community distribution models . This is in collaboration with our customers . Through this we see maintained employment , skills transfer and local training.
TimRite remain committed to procuring from BBBEE entities at all levels of its business. To this end TimRite played a major role in developing Black owned enterprises at its various sites.
In line with Thebe’s commitment towards community development, through our CSI projects, TimRite has contributed significantly towards communities within which the company conducts its business. We strongly believe in impacting the local community though projects within education, healthcare, development of youth and people living with disabilities and rural community development

CUSTOMER BASE
Timrite’s customer base includes some of the greatest stakeholders in the South Africa and African mining industry.
GEOGRAPHICAL POSITIONING
The operations of Timrite are broadly split between the Back End operations which include the sawmills, plantations and non-mining market and the Front End which comprise the mining customer servicing function of the business including marketing and product assembly. The two mining sawmills operated by Timrite are situated at Hazy View (Ramanas Mill) and Piet Retief (Kemp Mill). Both mills are in close proximity to their source of round timber and railway network. The mills manufacture timber components and products used in underground support solutions and industrial timber markets.
The Front End service centres and factories are positioned to optimize the management and distribution of product to our customers. These centres are located in the Evander, Kusasalethu, Klerksdorp, Welkom and Westonaria. In addition, Timrite has established operations on mine properties where product assembly, timber yard and stock management services are provided.
Timrite’s investment in this extensive logistical network is of direct benefit to our customers through just in time deliveries, reduced stock holding and improved working capital.
